Hello and welcome! My name is Erin and I am a substitute teacher living in Northern Virginia, ten years removed from Colorado. Keeping this short feels dang near impossible because I am a talker, ha, but here goes!

I found myself in a rut, missing my "old life". The life where I spent more time pondering, reading, and writing. A life filled with intention and meaning; a life with less time spent caught up in the distractions that prevail in this day and age.

As many of my friends moved away (or I from them), I found myself lonely and wishing it wasn't so difficult to make friends. It seems the older I get, the more difficult it has been to make new friends.

When I heard a podcast from a woman who has a snail mail club, something resonated inside. I loved everything about the idea. The writing, the creating, the slowing down, the idea of providing a space where friendships can bloom through the mail with handwritten and handmade goodies. It felt authentic and real, and fun. I miss the tangible days of my youth; the excitement of reading the Avon booklet hanging on my front door or going to grandma's and combing through and circling my fave's from the new JC Penny's catalog

I am not great with social media, which is ironic since I am going to have to promote myself because no one knows who I am, sigh, but I am great with being  genuine, hands-on, and compassionate in person, which I hope translates through each envelope delivered from my hand to yours.

So, if you want to know why I named the club "Smell the Carnations" (and, no, it wasn't because the domain for "Smell the Roses was taken), subscribe! I will let you know through your first letter. There's of course a wordy explanation told through story. Ha!

I truly look forward to further correspondence, and if I have scared you off, then please, gift this club to someone you think would enjoy it. I mean, you do get a free, creative drink recipe each month written on a beautiful recipe card, just like the old days. There's nothing scary about that. Or is there... 😉

To the future! Hear, hear!

Love,

Erin

TL;DR I like fashion, talking with friends, and long walks on the beach. I am seeking a non-smoker with whom to enjoy late night infomercials as well as cuddles in front of a cozy fire.
